IMUSE 2020 - You can help!

Nothing is more important to us than the health and wellbeing of our artists, audiences and staff. As a result of world-wide measures to limit the spread of COVID-19, IMUSE - Rencontres Musicales Internationales d'Enghien is unable to offer its ten-day masterclass program within the current health and safety guidelines.

In difficult times, we believe that the arts can both inspire and strengthen the community. We are committed to being there for future generations of performers and helping in every way we possibly can. As such we are pleased to announce our Encounters 2.0 program designed to help support young classical musicians at this critical time.

Encounters 2.0
A limited group of young classical talent, selected by a world-renowned panel of musicians, will spend four days working one-to-one in an intensive program designed to develop each students’ unique talents.  This free scholarship program will allow teachers and students to once again connect in a safe environment, providing opportunities to explore selected repertoire to a greater depth.

Concerts (which will also be Live streamed) featured during the 4-day program will highlight both professors and students, sharing both locally and internationally the IMUSE vision of community and music grounded in an educational and artistic approach.

How you can help!
We’ve been busy re-imagining our program for the remainder of this year, to ensure we can continue to deliver for our community of musicians and loyal audiences. While 2020 looks different now, IMUSE remains just as ambitious, and we need your help to keep providing opportunities for young musicians.

We know times are tough for everyone but if you can afford to support please do, a little truly does go a long way.

Communication 17/04

Following the Belgian prime minister’s announcement on wednesday (15/04), we think it’s important to keep you informed on the Belgian situation until the end of August (= Master Classes included).

First of all, as of this moment, no information has been given that endangers IMUSE 2020 Summer session.

It is true that the Belgian prime minister announced the cancellation of mass events, such as big festivals. Whilst waiting for more government investigations concerning specific number of people to be considered as a “mass event”, we strongly believe IMUSE will not fall into that category.

However, we acknowledge that the situation could evolve for other reasons, such as boarder re-openings, concerts cancellations, restrictions for small events,…

As we don’t want the situation to prevent musicians to plan a great musical experience, we want you to know that we commit ourselves to refund every musician who would register for the Master Classes in case their participation would become impossible for virus related reasons.

As done since the beginning of the crisis, we will continue to keep you closely informed on every new development, and make sure to take the best decision to respect the rules, but more importantly to respect your security and your experience with IMUSE.

Take care of yourself and the ones you love,

Communication 19/03

As more and more countries are under lockdown to fight again coronavirus, we wish everyone and their loved ones to be safe and healthy!

We would also like to have a special thought for musicians in those tough times. We know many concerts are being cancelled, and we hope this won't last.

Let's continue to love and enjoy our music, spread that love, support each other and let's get out of this stronger than before.

From all of use at IMUSE
